Indication: Useful in the respiratory system related complaints like cold, cough, chest congestion, athama, allergy, and in digestive system related conditions like distaste, indigestion and used in cardiac complaints.

Dose:  1 to  3 grams along with hot water or honey three to four times daily after food or as directed by the physician.

Side effects: may induce mild gastritis in heavy dose, used with caution in diabetic patients as it contain suger.

Contraindication: no absolute contraindication

Roga karma: gudaroga, agnimandya, kasa, aruchi, shwasa, kantaroga and hrithroga.

Dosha karma: Kaphapittahara
