Indication: Piles, constipation, retention of urine, indigestion, flatulence, loss of appetite and worm infestation.

Dose: 20 to 40 ml with equal quantity of water.(Dose varies based on agni and kosta bala) Two times daily after food.

Side effects:  No known side effects, the heavy dose may induce gastric irritation. Use with caution in diabetic patients as it contain jaggery,

Method of preparation of Abhayarishta: Prepare the kashaya or decoction by boiling kashaya dravyas in water and reduce to ¼th  and strain the decoction. When decoction is cooled add jaggery and prakshepaka dravyas. Keep for fermentation undisterbed in a closed vessel  for 21 to 48 days. On fermentation arista is filtered and stored in a glass bottle.

Method of storege: Stored in an airtight glass bottle. Keep away from light and moisture.

Qualities of Abhayarishta:

Roga Karma: Arsha, 8 types of udara roga, malamutra vibhanda, agnideepana, grahani, pandu, kusta, gara, jwara, shopha, pleeha, hridroga, gulma, rajayakshma, chardi and krimi.

Doshakarma: Tridoshahara mainly Kaphavatahara.

Agni Karma: Deepana, pachana

Other Karma: Vatanulomaka, vibhandahara, srotoshodhana.
